'Love Is Sweet' - A Dessert-Themed Baby Shower

I'm sorry for not posting over the last couple of days. I've been crazy busy building my site - mom2jsquared.com (stay tuned for the new and improved site!) and hosting a baby shower for my bestie, Kasey, and her baby, Delta Faye {don't you LOVE her name!?!}.

Delta Faye is due to make her grand entrance at the beginning of October, so this Sunday we celebrated at my house with a 'Love Is Sweet' dessert-themed baby shower. You know me - I love to throw a girly party, so this one was extra special and extra girly. I can't wait to hold that baby girl in my arms!

Here are some pictures from the shower - enjoy!

Invite (minus the block hiding my address) found on tinyprints.com -  and I made the 'Diaper Raffle' tickets to match.
The beautiful mama herself - Kasey.
"Though she may be but little she is fierce".
I made a 'bubble burlap' wreath for little Ms. Delta and now it's hanging in her nursery.
Can you tell I'm loving burlap right now? Found this 'Sleeping Beauty' gem on etsy.com
I was able to re-use the fabric garland I spent 8 hours making for Jojo's party.
Making this burlap banner seemed themed-appropriate.
desserts galore!
A sweet cake for a sweet baby girl.
Kasey's favorite drink - sans alcohol and caffeine, of course.
Could she be any cuter!?! She's all baby!
Instead of a game, I opted to have the ladies make baby head bands for Delta ranging from 0-12 months.
Chatting and getting crafty!
A bag full of sweet little head bands!
'Wishes for Baby' - a nice way to remember who attended the shower.
Cake time! I found this DIY Ombre Rose Cake tutorial on Purple Chocolate Home.
Gifts for Delta Faye.
Ms. Delta should be all set!
A little 'thank you' gift for the ladies who came and helped make the day special. I made the bags using a lunch-sack, edge-punch, doily, and vintage carriage stamp. {Inside bag: 'ice cream' lip gloss, ice-cream-scoop bath fizzers, girly loofah, and cupcake-scented Bath and Bodyworks hand-sanitizer}
We forgot to ask someone to take our picture before they all left, so our only option was this self-portrait...

Here are the links to other items I purchased:
Flower Pom Poms
Flower Pom Pom Garland
Custom 'Delta Faye' cake banner
Paper straws
Cupcake wrappers
Pink-striped napkins
Ivory metal birdcage
Porcealin birds
Bucket/flower vases
Beveled mirrors
Bird's nest

I also buy a lot of my supplies from Michaels and JoAnns using their store coupons (if you are crafty you must sign up for their customer-loyalty programs for the coupons alone). But, I also LOVE LOVE LOVE save-on-crafts.com for uber affordable craft supplies/party decor - seriously - the prices are fabulous!

As for all the china and serving platters, etc. - I'm lucky enough to have one of my Great-Grandmother's collections of china and crystal and I thought it was the perfect occasion to whip it out!

Sweets that were served:
Pink M&Ms
Rice Crispy flower-pops
Fresh raspberries
Lemon heart cookies
Shortbread heart cookies drizzled with chocolate
Homemade banana pudding served in mini mason jars

I was extremely honored to be the hostess for Delta's baby shower and it was a special day for me and I know Kasey felt it was a special day for her too. Thanks to all the ladies that came and celebrated with us!

Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for Delta Faye to get here! Come on baby girl!

Love you, Kasey!
